The Williamson County Emergency Services District #4 has adopted:
AN ORDER ADOPTING PORTIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE AND PORTIONS OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE AND NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION STANDARDS; PROVIDING FOR FEES TO BE PAYABLE FOR PERMITS, APPROVALS AND INSPECTIONS; REQUIRING A PERMIT OR APPROVAL FOR CERTAIN HAZARDOUS USES AND ACTIVITIES; PROVIDING FOR CIVIL AND CRIMINAL PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; PROVIDING FOR ADMINISTRATION OF THE FIRE CODE AND AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF AND HIS DESIGNEES TO ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE THE CODE; AUTHORIZING ENTRY ONTO PROPERTY TO CONDUCT INSPECTIONS;
AUTHORIZING STOP WORK ORDERS FOR WORK PERFORMED IN VIOLATION OF THE FIRE CODE; PROVIDING FOR APPOINTMENT OF AN APPELLATE BODY AND FOR APPEALS FROM DECISIONS OF THE FIRE CHIEF; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE : July 1, 2007
The District has adopted this fire code to regulate and govern the safeguarding of life and property from fire, medical, and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each of all of the regulations, provisions, penalties; conditions and terms of said Fire Code are on file in the office of the Williamson County Emergency Service District No. 4.
Examples of to whom this applies: Commercial New/Existing Business, Restaurants, Private/Public Schools, Foster Homes, Day-Care, Institutions, Assisted Living, Hotel, Motel, Apartments, Multi-Family residences, roads and/or gates that serves as Fire Department Access, Storage of any Hazardous Substance, Open Burning, etc.We will also conduct plan reviews for all new commercial construction.
The fire code is applicable and enforceable throughout the territory of the District, except within the corporate limits of any municipality located in the territory of the District that has previously adopted a fire code, if any.
The intent of this letter is to inform you that the fire code has been adopted and that you're particular occupancy or property may fall within the enforcement parameters of this code. Liberty Hill Fire Department will be contacting all occupancies affected and initiating inspections. Our mission is to achieve compliance through cooperation and education. If you desire to purchase a copy of the International Fire Code 2006 you can contact ICC @ 1-888-ICC-SAFE or www.iccsafe.org. If you have not received a copy of the Resolution to Adopt the IFC 2006 by Williamson County ESD #4 please contact our office at the number listed above, or ask the company officer or inspector for a copy when they visit. A copy of this resolution, permit/fee schedules, plans submittal instructions, Open Burning Regulations, and all forms associated with the WCESD #4 code adoption are available on our web site under Fire Safety
